Part II · Chapter 15

Bill of Materials (BOM)

File → Generate BOM produces a PDF bill of materials for the current setup, named BOM_<setup name>.pdf. It is a Professional-tier feature. A setup with no optics or optomechanics shows a "no elements to export" notice instead.

What the document contains

The PDF starts with the setup name, the date and the setup's description, followed by two tables:

  1. Optical elements: every catalog optic, custom optic and paraxial lens.
  2. Optomechanical parts: mounts, posts, cages and imported CAD parts, and also light sources and detectors.

Each table has three columns: P/n (part number), Description and Quantity.

Quantities

Identical parts are combined into one row with a quantity. For cage rods and posts, the BOM computes the rod length and post specification from the geometry of the setup, so the list matches what you would order. The GCS is not listed.
