The PAC089AR.14 is a high-quality achromatic doublet lens, designed and manufactured by MKS/Newport. This lens is specifically engineered for use in the visible light spectrum, with a effective focal length (EFL) of 300mm, making it suitable for a wide range of optical applications.
The lens features a 50.8 mm diameter, with a thickness of 11.4 mm at the edge. The inner and outer radii are 0, indicating a circular shape. The EFL of 300mm is achieved through a complex geometry, with radii of curvature of r1=-141.605, r2=-475.988, and a center thickness of 14mm. This geometry is designed to minimize chromatic aberration, a common issue in optical systems, particularly in the visible light spectrum.
The lens is composed of two types of glass, N-BK7 and N-SF5, both from Schott. These materials were chosen for their excellent optical properties, particularly their low dispersion, which contributes to the lens's high chromatic correction. The lens is coated with a new AR-14 coating on both the front and back surfaces, further enhancing its performance by reducing reflection and increasing transmission in the visible light spectrum.
